- Historically, leather was used in much more creative and interesting ways,
including leather sculptures. We wish to revive the long lost art of leather
sculpture. Our handcrafted leather sculptures faces and torsos are sometimes
referred to as wet formed leather sculpture. Using uncommon processes and
techniques, our artist creates unique handicrafts leather sculptures, faces
and torsos. Specially tanned cowhide, is used to create the leather
sculpture as a handmade decorative pieces. Some of the colors are dyed in
oak barrels, while others are left natural so our artist can create his own
color palette.
Our Colombian artisans sculpt a leather sculpture by precisely cutting each
layered piece, which he then hand molds and trims. Next, employing an
inventive technique he translates color schemes and textures, and transforms
the varied thicknesses of the leathers into a unique one of a kind leather
sculpture. Our handcrafted leather sculptures make excellent unique gift
items.
